This camera-shy Deputy is anything but timid when it comes to his work. Doing street level narcotic investigations, as well as assisting in other specialized investigations, Deputy Johnson remains serious about safeguarding his community.

“My greatest satisfaction with the Sheriff’s Office has been when I worked as a Community Resource Deputy in Progress Village, an economically disadvantaged community similar to the one I grew up in,” states Johnson. In his three years there, Johnson patrolled the streets on foot, personally met and talked with residents daily, and forged a better understanding between the community and the Sheriff’s Office.

“There were a lot of single parent households so I started a group called “Story Dads,” enlisting male role models to come in and read to students in schools,” recalls Deputy Johnson. “At Christmas, we recognized the need, took a proactive role, and solicited various organizations to get toys to these kids.”

Deputy Johnson says, “I was proud to show this community that the Sheriff’s Office cares about their neighborhoods and their families.

The support and care this community showed me in return have given me memories that will stay with me long after I leave law enforcement.”
