Sheriff David Gee is proud to announce the creation of the first-ever voluntary Citizen Patrol
Program in our county.
Think of it as being partners on patrol with deputies. Citizen Patrol will be extra “eyes and ears’’ for law enforcement, helping deputies spot problems and thwart crime in our neighborhoods. Volunteers will not perform law enforcement functions, but they will be a Neighborhood Watch on wheels. Citizen Patrol will also assist us with school crossings, traffic direction and assisting disabled motorists.
Sheriff Gee needs volunteers who want to help keep our county safe. If you have the desire to help the Sheriff’s Office and your neighbors, we want to hear from you.
Citizen Patrol volunteers will receive comprehensive training, uniforms and on the street
guidance as you patrol in one of our specially marked vehicles. The
Citizen Patrol is
now in five areas, Apollo Beach, Bloomingdale,
Brandon, Westchase and Town n Country. Eventually we want our Citizen Patrol throughout the county.
If you are interested in being a volunteer or wish more information about
the program, please call:
